Introduction

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)

The challenge of Jesus" Great Commission to make disciples of all nations reaches every believer. Each one of us has a general call to be witnesses of what God has done in our lives and to advance the Kingdom of God on the earth. However, within that general call is also a specific call that is unique for every believer. Not everyone is called to be a pastor. Not everyone is called to be an evangelist. Not everyone is called to be an administrator. In addition, we are not personally called to meet every need that comes to our attention. God has a unique and specific mission for each of us and he has given us the gifts and abilities that we need to fulfil that mission. Effective leaders seek to have a clear sense of personal mission. So, how do we discover that specific mission? How do we understand the work to which we are called, and how do we recognise when areas are outside our calling?

This study examines the personal mission and call that God has placed on our lives, and investigates practical ways through which we can discover that mission.
