Jesus' Driving Ambition
- Find three more scriptures from the Gospel of John to show that Jesus was committed to do the will of the Father.
A Different Set of Principles and Priorities
- Pause for a moment and write down your response to the situation (Mark 1:28-37).
The Father's Will For Us
- Write down three of your goals in life. How do these goals align with God's will for your life? Identify how you could achieve these goals in two ways in your own strength or God's way.
Examining The Ground
- Pontius Pilate and Rehoboam are examples of lives built on the affirmation of others. Can you think of a public figure, a Biblical figure and maybe someone in your past who is the same. Identify some characteristics of this wrong foundation.
- "Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." (1 Timothy 4:16)
Can you recognise the symptoms of wrong foundations in your own life? What is your greatest challenge in this area? What is the importance of regularly examining our foundations?
Examine your foundations.
- Where does your sense of person worth come from e.g. your ministry, your relationships, your job, your family? If these were removed from your life, how would you feel and react.
