Conclusion
Examining our lives in this way may reveal a wide gap between how our lives stand at present, and the kind of life that Jesus desires for us. In order for us to progress towards the kind of leadership that Jesus wants for us, we need the deep transformation of our thinking and motivation. This is the process of renewing the mind that Paul speaks about:
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:1-2)
This fundamental transformation in our thinking is a process that lasts a lifetime. As we are committed to investing in the process we will see changes in our decision-making, reflecting the deep, inner transformation that are taking place at the foundation of our lives. One of the main objectives of the Effective Leadership programme is to invest in that process, so that our leadership reflects the kind of life that the Father desires for us.
