Personal Application Worksheet

The primary purpose of this worksheet is to enable you to process the study material to give you a deeper understanding of the main principles. Therefore, it is important that you work through the worksheet with a thoughtful, reflective attitude.

Principles From The Farm

  1. You reap what you sow. Identify three things that you have done in the last year to sow into your own leadership development (e.g.. read a book, listened to a teaching tape, attended a conference etc.) How have these investments contributed to your personal effectiveness?
  2. Read Matthew 13: 31-34 and Luke 19:7. Write down your thoughts on why leaders must be prepared to start small. Identify an occasion when you have experienced this principle in your own life.

The Learning Process

  1. There are several emotions that we feel when we change out thinking (e.g. fear, frustration, excitement etc.)  Choose a learning experience from your own life, and explain how you dealt with some of these feelings.
  2. How important is support and encouragement in making changes in your life?  Can you identify someone who has helped you make a significant change. How did they assist you?
  3. How do you feel about the concept of accountability? Write down these feelings. Are you prepared to develop mutually-accountable relationships with others in a small group?
  4. Write in you own words the difference between training and learning.
